The Story of a Pond (तळ्याची गोष्ट)

There was a big pond in the forest. It was always full of fresh, cool and clean water. All the animals and birds liked to drink the water from the pond. The animals liked the pond very much. They did not like to share the pond with the birds.

“This pond belongs to us,” said the animals. “No, no, it’s wrong, we found the pond first, so, it belongs to us,” said
the birds. In this way, all the animals and birds began to fight. The fight went on for a long time. “This is no way to solve our problem,” said some birds and animals.
“We need one wise bird or animal, who will solve the problem,” said the deer. So all the birds and the animals asked the sparrow to solve the problem.
The sparrow was a little but very wise bird. The sparrow thought for some time and said, “The pond belongs to the one who is thirsty. So the animals and the birds both can drink the fresh, cool and clean water from the pond. The pond does not belong to anybody. We will share it with everybody.”

After then, all the animals and the birds clapped.
The animals and the birds lived happily in the forest around the pond.
